Health Savings Accounts (H.S.A.)

As rates continue to increase, people are looking for less expensive alternatives. Health Savings Accounts (H.S.A.'s) are the newest innovation in health insurance. They are a combination of a high deductible health plan (usually $ 3,000 per year or higher) and a savings account with a financial institution. The contributions to the savings accounts are tax-deductible, and whatever is left in the account at the end of the year can be carried forward to the following year.

For 2012, an individual can fund his or her savings account up to $3,100. For a family the amount is $ 6,250. Also, an individual age 55 or older can fund an additional $ 1000. per year.

The dollars in the savings account come out tax-free when used for IRS approved medical expenses which include not only most doctor visits, surgery, hospital bills, and prescriptions, but also things such as eyeglasses and vision care and dental expenses.

There are no co-pays for physician visits and prescriptions. However, the discounted amounts you do pay count towards meeting your calendar year deductible. In addition, plans often cover expenses at 100% after the deductible is met.  Often there are significant premium savings over a traditional PPO or HMO plan and this makes the H.S.A. a viable alternative in many cases.

Health Insurance - Individual

Over the years, we have found Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona to be stable in both rates and benefits. They have a very competitive H.S.A. plan called the Blue Portfolio Plus as well as traditional PPO co-pay plan.. Click on their logo for details on their different plans, benefits, and rates. Health Insurance- Group

Just like individual plans, Health Savings Accounts (H.S.A.'s) are more and more popular. In Arizona you need at least two full-time employees, which can include the owner. The rates for each group are based on various factors, including the health of all the individuals in the group. The contributions to the savings account portion of the Health Savings Account can be made by the employer, employee, or a combination of both.

Health Insurance- Temporary

We have available short term health insurance for those between jobs, students, and people waiting for their group or individual health insurance plans to start, or any other temporary need for coverage. This coverage is available for up to one year. It is easy to apply online.

Dental Insurance- Group

You need at least two full-time employees, which can include the owner, to qualify for group dental insurance. It is an inexpensive way to offer a valuable benefit to you, your employees and dependents.
